About Us

NQ Fishing Adventures is accommodation at a fishing hut that comes with boats and a host who takes care of all the tasks you don’t want to do on a fishing trip. Your host will provide all meals, bait (live and frozen), fillet your fish, cook your crabs, and handle all the cleaning.

This is not a fishing charter, but your host can provide local fishing knowledge that makes it easier to find fish. We are located about 80km south of Townsville at Jerona. Currently, we have three 4.1m Polycraft boats with an additional option of electric motors for lure fishermen.

Boats can carry up to 4 people, but we recommend 2-3 per boat. Nominated skipper per boat must have a current boat license and minimum age of 21. Nominated skippers will need to sign a waiver at the hut after going over all safety equipment and operations before operating the boats. Inflatable pfd150 life jackets are provided and recommended to be worn in boats at all times.

Adventures are set up for 2-6 people with a minimum 2-night stay. Free transfers to and from Townsville airport are available.

If you are interested in making a booking, let us know what month you would like to book, and we will inform you of our availability. We are currently only taking bookings up to 6 months in advance.

A booking is secured once a 10% deposit is placed via bank transfer, with the remainder to be transferred before arrival or paid in cash on arrival. A $300 security bond is required per boat and will be returned at the end of your visit, pending no damage to the boat and equipment.

Once a booking is made, those dates are reserved exclusively for you and your group. There will be no other guests staying at the hut during your dates, apart from your host who will stay in a separate room.
